With today's announcement of HP Cloud Services moving to Public Beta IT organizations have an important addition to the list of cloud service providers to pick from in the months ahead. And it's a name that they are very familiar with for a wide variety of use cases and business challenges in their infrastructure already. With the public beta milestone HP is inviting enterprise IT everywhere to test drive their cloud services, extending their vision of enterprise solutions to the cloud.
From a cloud-integrated enterprise storage perspective, this is great news. Storage is fast becoming the de facto first project for CIOs looking to tap into the cost savings which the cloud offers and HP is a familar and trusted name in the enterprise data center already.
As Marc Farley points out in his blog, StorSimple has been working with HP on our cloud services integration for some time and we are hearing from our customers just how important it is to make the move to the cloud as simple as possible. While there are many dimensions to simple (e.g. system management interface, transparent data movement between on-premise and cloud, uncomplicated monthly billing, non-disruptive SW updates), being able to select a provider that is already a trusted name in your datacenter has to be up there on the list.
